The Karachi Bioethics Group (KBG) extends an invitation to its upcoming hybrid meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 12, 2023, from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at the Center of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC) – SIUT. Participants have the option to attend either in person at CBEC-SIUT or virtually. Those planning to be present physically are kindly requested to confirm their attendance by December 5, 2023, allowing for the arrangement of running tea and refreshments.
The agenda for the meeting is diverse, including the critical topic of acceptable limits of inequality in healthcare provision. Dr. Mumtaz Lakhani will present on the depiction of graphic images from conflict zones, followed by Dr. Shahid Shamim exploring bioethics through the lens of humanities with his poetry. There will be updates on the group’s website and a discussion on hosting responsibilities for the next year led by Dr. Nida Wahid Bashir and Ms. Shabana, and concluding with any other business (AOB) and setting the date for the next meeting.
